Honey Harvest

Honey Harvest

Last week I took one frame of golden honey from my bee hive. It tastes delicious, smells delightful, and is gorgeous. I love cutting up the comb and keeping jars with comb. I chew on it and even eat a bit of it. Then I strain some of the comb so I have honey to drizzle over salads, use in recipes, and drinks.

I left plenty of honey so the bees can get through the blazing Texas summer. Often, there's little blooming because the plants bake in the heat and our lack of rain doesn't help matters. I'll check on the hive in a week or two.
